Writers' Tears

had a sip of fire

not burnt, blasted by the whiff

only writer's hell

I hardly drink and this is not to encourage writers to do so.

I was at a reading, and this label triggered my 

empathetic response.

darkened walk unwind

skilled artists dare their bodies

spring blooms explode in 

flames, spread their fiery ardour

mother's love, climbing

through all challenges, caring

giving each other fond space 

to thrive on their own

spring's tulip fever 

colours of passion burst out

one ends, others grow

new blooms, fresh thoughts, past released 

in the now, rejoice

pensive, expansive

in soft velvet regalia

yielding to summer

to shoot up straight, flourishing

from human constraints

ring in golden spring

the fresh breath of revival

lasting till summer
